American Advertising Awards

The American Advertising Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative creative competition, recognizing creative excellence in the art of advertising.


The American Advertising Awards Committee begins their work in the fall, which includes the concept, sponsorships, writing and graphic design assistance for call for entries, program, developing show concept; finding judges and coordinating their travel; helping with actual entry and judging coordination; developing and participating in skits; decorations and producing the show and event.

Marketing

Communications

The Marketing Communications (MarCom) Committee produces communications to our members and prospective members including writing, editing, designing, gathering photos for: website, Facebook, Twitter, email campaigns, and printed communications. The MarCom committee will work closely with all other Board Members to promote various initiatives.

Membership

The Membership Committee will retain and engage current club members. Efforts include maintaining a current membership roster, developing and implementing member service strategies, and producing a membership directory. They will also recruit quality new members, create necessary recruitment materials and strategies, and may be asked to conduct a member survey.

Programs

The Programs Committee is responsible for planning, supervising and promoting attendance at social activities throughout the year. Events may range from professional development programs, fundraisers, or other social events (i.e., luncheons, auctions, happy hours).

Diversity

The Diversity Committee will develop and recommend innovative programs that are inclusive of, expand the role of and drive participation of minorities throughout AAF Orange County; to create opportunities within the industry; and to provide self-regulation guidelines for recruitment and retention efforts.

Education

The Education Committee will work to improve communications, share programs and increase educational opportunities between AAF and area students including high schools and colleges. Responsibilities may include helping to engage AAF College Chapters, organizing scholarships, helping promote agency internship programs to local colleges, developing and running student programs, coordinating student sponsorships so that students can attend programs. This committee will also work closely with Ad 2 SoCal, the 32-and-under division of AAF.

Government Relations

The Government Relations Committee will monitor legal issues surrounding the advertising industry and keep the board and membership informed as issues arise that could affect the industry and also determine how best to address the issues. The committee will also work to forge a deeper relationship with local and state government leaders to benefit the public profile of AAF’s contributions to our area and impact on the state’s economy.
